lyrics
When I saw your face this morning I could see the sadness deep in your eyes
I spoke to you softly. I tried to draw you near to me again.
I could see you felt alone. I could feel the cold distance between.
I wanted nothing more than to comfort you - to make it right again.
But I took too long, it was too late. Like I fool I'd chosen to wait on it.
The damage had been done, but I chose not to be the one to fix it.
And the treasure I had found, I left it on the ground to rust.
I was too blind to see what you needed from me from the start.
I fell asleep for so damned long. I couldn't hear what you were asking.
I chose to believe that we were fine. That we would somehow simply survive.
But now that I'm awake I can only face the hard truth
What I failed to give you, you now seek in somebody else.
I thought that I had tried, but now I know I lied to myself.
And I'm not too ashamed to accept my share of blame in this.
So I have to let you go. We have to find our own paths now.
And I hope that we will find the missing peace of mind we seek.
